Manuel is the poet laureate of East Records. His first record 'Someone's Stolen My Soup Recipe' features poetry mostly written by a Manuel in his adolescence, a portrait of the artist as a young man.
Manuel himself describes this album as 'various musicians capturing magical, musical moments through waves of sound and exploring the delights of the earth. Don't live by these words, just listen to them'.
All tracks are completely improvised, live and strictly spontaneous by a 3 piece Electric Fish that rotate instruments depending on the track.
Manuel's second offering 'A Different Kettle of Fish' is a departure in sound and lyrical style from the first record and features a Manuel more reflective on existence in a stream of consciousness fashion with a more stripped back and sexier Electric Fish.
Both pieces are truly unique and cannot be accurately categorised, a time capsule and Fish-Eye lens into true artistic freedom.
It takes a little time but all good things do.
